2010 apache 150 red

I was squatting in one of India’s best-selling 150s. Throttle scrolling to stop, his chin almost on the tank and brain screaming for more power. lightning lit landscape is rapidly heading the other way and cursed like a character in a horror movie, I was trying to escape from burning orange objects in the rearview mirror. I say destined, and not a hero character, because I was not going fast enough. A few moments later, the blur has passed and now I withdraw and hold left to contemplate the beautiful little butt-ended 150 new TVS ‘Apache.

This is a nice name. Much better than the sudden explosion of monikers truly awful. Yes, the point of doubting Thomas’ that ‘apuchhi’ means grandfather’s brother in Malayalam, but to me, Apache is ugly, and therefore (automatically) the most effective attack fighter ever built. And the war in American Indian tribes quickly built a reputation for skillful strategy in a fierce battle and their soldiers. I did not hear the age-faded ‘beta’ I heard the fun., Thundering beat two Rolls-Royce turboshaft engines, which cut ‘Fox two,’ the roar of a Hellfire missile and a loud explosion indicates that the enemy only to lose something important. The name is the first clue that far from the norm TVS Apache usual. Words such as repairs, drunk and civilian, who has come to be a normal representation bike TVS ‘is not pronounced in the rest of the day I spent at Hosur factory!

150 is the new mantra for aggression. And that clearly in sight. Inhouse design package to take cues from a variety of whole sportsbikes from around the world, and where-ever I see, there are details that will not be out of place in the Benelli naked, cutting-edge or the Yamaha Aprilia slinky. In a word, Apache is, visually striking aggressive, with-it the perfect bike. In fact, I went so far as to say that my ability with the camera does not allow me to do justice to how the muscles and Apache style really looks.

And they’ve thought of everything. Tank carved. No line is out of place, there is no slack. Same theme in sidepanels activities and in the tailpiece. While the bike was fun we shot free stickers, we were told a small piece of text will take place on the plane facing down the tailpiece. Two details stand out is the three-strake sidepanel matte black (no one says, a mirror image on Apache) and? Ways painted panel met under the right tail light. Then there’s slickness submitted by allen bolts thoughtfully placed, saree guard matte black, sleek two-completion (the radius of a textured, with a smooth outer rims) black alloys.

Yamaha legend revived and reinvented the concept, just keep the name and the basic idea. Also, remember that the Japanese makers is difficult to choose how to go from the beginning because it is designed either to track or the streets. It seems now that everything is cleaned.

Ducati Hypermotard 1100 introduced only in 2007 but since then the floating Bologna factory has made a series upgrade cycle in various companies, mostly to the machine. And with strong modularity in the model, it makes more sense to update the Hypermotard rather than allowing it, then this, the new Hypermotard 1100 Evo.
More than cosmetic changes, with the 2010 version 7 kg lighter. The dashboard and switchgear is now the same as Streetfighter, but the biggest improvement of component-sharing in the machine, which is much lighter, with a thin, compact crankcases.
The figures speak about a few changes: the power by 5bhp to 95bhp and there was a small increase in peak torque, but the feeling was shelves, sharper and with more torque in the lower reaches of the range of rotation. Motor revs freely and has urged the muscle feels appropriate to the type of bike. He does not complain if you are in gear too high, even I found that when the shift up early at the test site in Sardinia customs – rely more torque than revs – it’s as fast as redlined.

For this type of rose you require, agile chassis and sharp steering gives Hypermotard. There are two models, the stock Evo and SP 1100 spec is higher, which rose at an expensive Öhlins rear shock and Marzocchi fork, with front calipers and Brembo Monobloc detailing such as carbon fiber cambelt cover.

SP 1.25in sit higher and have more travel front and rear wheels, as well as the bar higher 0.8in, Pirelli Diablo tires Supercorsa SP and datalogging systems. It is also more accurate and more confident when being stretched to the sides through change is difficult, and holding the line where the Evo tend to push wide.

Nothing wrong with the standard Evo though, was still yelling and very satisfying in the right situation.
This concept is an evolution of the SuperMoto it – which is basically an off-road bike-style with sticky street tires. The compromise means that you get a small range; 2.73 gallon refill tank means every 80 miles or more. Also, there is no real wind protection and despite the narrowness of the bike, fold-out bar-end mirror is a liability in traffic. Hardly luxurious chairs, distances are so long outside.

It’s not cheap, either. The Evo nearly £ 9.200, while the SP is £ 10,930, a lot of money because you’ll have another bike to meet the tasks ahead are not Hypermotard. Ducati knows this motorcycle sales will be sufficient to justify its existence. For those who like this type of bike, exactly what they want. For the rest of us, it’s good to know it exists.

2010 Ducati Hypermotard 796 Matt White

Motorcycle manufacturers are taking a different approach to the recession. The Japanese have been conventional, delayed the launch of new models and generally cut costs. Honda even has closed the main European design center in Offenbach, Germany.

Some of the smaller, agile European companies think differently, however, including some from Italy – that never seems to worry about the breast will remain – and, especially, Triumph in Britain. For them, as management speak would put it, a recession is an opportunity to increase market share now more cost effective to do so. When the sales numbers turn around and go back to normal, retaining a share would mean a big increase in sales compared to pre-recession period.

The victory was a pupil of the most overtly aggressive of this credo, but the Ducati is also faithful followers. Its CEO, Gabriele Del Torchio, confirmed Bolognese factory is poised to launch a raft of new models to expand its market share over the next few years. The latest release will not do harm, either: the Hypermotard 796 (actually 803cc) is smaller, lighter, cheaper, relatively younger than the namesake invaded in 1100. And rather than less, can mean more riders.

Less clear in terms of both weight and price. It’s 26 pounds lighter than 1100, so it would obviously be improved maneuverability – even if the bike is hardly lethargic larger in terms of changes in direction. Destination mudguard bent on something devious and relishes the challenge, holding, diving and turning with speed, while the all-new machine that blows from alternating with strength and character typical Ducati.

handling is not perfect, but, because the front end often feel uneasy. Combination rear weight bias, quick steering, wide handlebars and a soft, dozens of long travel suspension to give the bike a lot, more-sensitive feel. It’s okay if you get yourself sorted well before the turn and apply the initial force, but a twitch of the throttle, shift your weight or the brush of the brakes can disrupt the cycle and, in all but perfect conditions, dilute the rider’s confidence.

However, it was not a serious defect, because it directs the bike is still very good, and the mix agility and punchy means that the motor is always going to be a trunk on the right path.

Undoubtedly a new engine development Ducati traditional output, with 90 degrees-, twin-cylinder architecture and characteristics of the horizontal cooling fins. From the outside you struggle to distinguish it from the Monster 696, but this is not just an upgrade bored or stroked. Pretty much every new or revised components.

As a result, this is a Ducati engine most fuel-efficient yet, capable of 58mpg claimed in normal driving – as well, considering that the fuel tank holds just 2.7 gallons. That allows received 120 miles or more before you worry about a refill.

As the air cooled Ducatis other, the big bang machine at the mid-range, punch you in conjunction with indifferent shoulder shrug. Although not in accordance with the cost of the ferocious 1100, it does not make you feel short-changed, either. Having less weight to move, of course, but equally important was crunchy and willing, and a broad spread of torque guarantee a useful response from low revs. He did not enjoy the trickling along the rpm is very low and awkward thick with urban traffic speeds, however. Wide-spaced gears mean you have to lug it round in the first or second hard, so you will not find the smoothness you’d expect from four Japanese, but in the dry, wide bike path is a delight and sound as good as it feels.

For students who are looking for low speed work the hard way, lightweight, easy couplings provide compensation and seats nearly an inch lower than in 1100.

Handlebar folding mirror from the rear end to give a fair view, something new on a Ducati, but not exceptionally well and they make the bike very wide, they are a liability in traffic. They are designed to fold so easily, so when your car crept past clouting you do not keep their feet, but the pain to keep flipping them inside and out to balance the width of the rear view. conventional mirror is a choice and I will come to them.

2010 Ducati Hypermotard 796 black

This is a bike with a few niggles, but also has character and style that so often understood mainstream – may annoy you at times, but you’ll fall in love with it as well. What’s impressive is the overall balance of strength and agility, which makes a better choice than the 1100 for many motorists. It’s quite fast and many, while some will lose that explosive power, for others it’s just the extra effort to intimidate or control.

Ducati’s biggest problem may be that, because it could steal sales Hypermotard 796 Monster 696 instead of from other manufacturers. Assuming buyers are not tempted by the Triumph Street Triple, which is not quite in the same class SuperMoto great, but it comes pretty close. It’s also much faster, handles better and cheaper £ 1,000.

Desmodromics
* Performance valve engine amazing we were only possible because of the unique Ducati desmodromic system, where valve closure is activated mechanically.
* At high rpm will be almost impossible for the valve to follow the closure of the steep profile of the cam lobe if it relies on a normal valve spring. With the Desmo system the valve is mechanically closed with the same accuracy as an open, enabling steep cam profiles and cam timing radical.
* This system is used on every single power unit including us beat the Ducati Superbike and MotoGP world Desmosedici machine.

Magnesium alloy covers
* The weight-saving cam covers in magnesium alloy as evidenced by their gold color.

High-cooling effieciency
* Race-developed Its fairing design ensures perfect integration with the cooling system to provide efficient flow through the radiator, cooling developed a large surface area, which is assisted by lightweight, the upper house with electricity and oil cooling fan.

Exhaust system
* Very mild, a sewage system has been engineered to enhance symmetrical 2-1-2 layout that uses 52mm-57mm diameter tubing with wall thickness 0.8mm (0.30in). It is equipped with a catalytic converter and lambda probe, two for optimum engine mapping and in accordance Euro3. This system ended with Ducati’s trademark twin under seat silencer, to give a clear signature that the sound of big bore Desmo 90 ° L-Twin.

1198 Testastretta Evoluzione
* Testastretta Evoluzione engine is the crown of the glory of our development and perfection of the L-Twin engine. The World Superbike dominance for almost two decades is the result of ongoing commitment to the twin-cylinder configurations us. We now share a gift for a commitment to technology that won the World Championship race team continues to flow from the factory to our production machine.
* Volumetric efficiency through optimized four valves per cylinder with a diameter of 43.5mm for the inlet valve and 35.5mm for the exhaust.

Vacural ® crankcases
* The 1198 Testastretta Evoluzione engine is the lightest ever used on the Ducati Superbikes, thanks Vacural ® technology, a crankcase vacuum die-cast manufacturing process to produce 3kg reduction in weight (6.5 pounds) compared to the 1098 Superbike case. This process ensures consistent and precise wall thickness and increased strength of the absolute purity of the material.

Power & torque curve
* 1198 Machine produces 170hp (125kW) @ 9750 rpm and class-beating £ 97-ft (13.4kgm) @ 8000 rpm torque.

Crankshaft
* Capacity in 1198 was achieved by using exactly the same 106mm x 67.9mm bore and stroke as the factory racing bikes.

Elliptical throttle bodies
* To maintain a highly efficient Testastretta cylinder head breathing their full potential, using the injection system’s MotoGP-derived elliptical throttle bodies with a diameter equal to 63.9mm.

Race-derived detail
* The 1198 machines all sharing the same attention to detail revealed races.
* Race-designed piston 1198 has a special ribbed double undercrown to achieve high strength and reduced friction by using a piston wall surface area is minimal. Using technology developed for the Desmosedici MotoGP project, the design allows reliable operation of the piston diameter of 106mm when appearing at high rpm.
* Racing rocker arm-type ‘super-finish’ to reduce friction and fatigue at high rpm.
* Specifications are carefully calculated gearbox allows the use of sixth gear ratio, fully enables increased speed of performance achieved by additional modifications (suggested to use the track only). Also with performance in mind and because of high resistance in fatigue, the gears are the engine of the same high-strength steel used in Ducati Corse race applications and having a shot-peening treatment that further ensures their strength.

Chassis

Trellis frame
* Developed in cooperation with Ducati Corse, lightweight Trellis frame features main section tubes 34mm with 1.5mm thickness material. The result is a very rigid construction which is still one of the lightest solution Ducati’s frame ever.
* By decade racing and development, Ducati has proven that advances in the evolution of innovative engineering frame chassis and won the race. Trellis tubular framework, used on every Ducati motorcycle, is the signature design elements.
* The framework is unique Ducati lightweight, rigid and beautiful thanks to intelligent design and the use of ALS Trellis high quality 450 tube. Each micro-tube mitred and fusion welded in a triangle pattern is a complex and powerful Our L-Twin engine cases are functional ‘stressed member’ of the chassis.

Brembo Monobloc brakes
* Machine from one part of the chorus, powerful Brembo’s Monobloc calipers reach a higher stiffness and resilience to distortion during extreme braking. The increase in hydraulic efficiency not only provides exceptional braking power, but also provide increased and the right ‘feel’ in the brake lever. Monobloc twins each have four-piston calipers grip large 34mm 330mm discs to help achieve spectacular braking performance. Weight disc has been kept to a minimum by using race-style narrow braking surfaces.

Superbike aerodynamics
* Carefully designed for aerodynamic efficiency and hug the sleek lines of the chassis, the bodywork Superbike allows the rider to blend in with the easy ride into the correct position.
* Race-developed Its fairing design ensures perfect integration with the cooling system to provide efficient flow through the radiator, cooling developed a large surface area, which is assisted by lightweight, the upper house with electricity and oil cooling fan. Aerodynamically shaped air channel is positioned just below the right front light is calculated to provide sufficient air delivery to the airbox pressure.
* The bodywork lightweight enough to contribute to the overall performance by reducing weight, protect the Testastretta Evoluzione engine power output, and helps the rider to slip effortlessly ‘in’ from the wind flow and reduce drag to achieve maximum straight-line track speed.

Magnesium front sub-frame
* Producing a front subframe magnesium underline the attention to detail weight-savings in the range of the Ducati Superbike. Construction provides secure support for the headlamp, instruments and gifts, and weight-saving around this high, forward position contributes enough to the overall ‘feel’ and control the machine.

Ohlins forks
* High performance, fully regulated 43mm Öhlins forks, which sport low friction Titanium Nitride fork sliders are treated, easily respond to every imperfection in the tarmac. In addition to their sophisticated engineering solutions, one of the most important characteristics of Öhlins forks is their ability to communicate the condition and quality of the contact patch-the-road tires, a feature that gives you superior control.

Powerplant
134bhp V-twin revs out at 10 800 rpm and has 26bhp more than 749, with a deliberately flat torque curve. Although the engine felt and sounded as if it were half-asleep at times, most definitely has a good eye open. Both torque and top speed is impressive and as if covered by a characteristic seems lazy from twin cylinder configuration. Put the throttle back and the 848 steps to the front with all the goals of a Wag the designer shops in the sights and credit cards in her purse.
It’s not too aggressive and there was no explosion power band, but there is stability confident. Motorcyclists used for several bike SupersPort Japan would probably feel very disciplined. But smooth power delivery, predictable and fun, most definitely appeal to the target Ducati’s. At the third session out, it all finally clicked. Tracks very scary now offers a treasure chest gift, as on a bicycle. The 848 is 20 kg lighter than its predecessor and has the power ratio-to-weight is better than 999. So it is easy tip into the corner and rolling the bike through the chicanes need a little persuasion.

Racetrack handling
It was thrilling blind, right-hander is now my absolute favorite as I charged into the firmament. suddenly fell off my fears as a point below when I dived to his left front knee on the dock and smiled at closing. Where I never imagined the edge of 50-pence piece, now I trace a super-smooth curve. The tires Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa Pro gripping surface as a line of bikes entered, waited compliantly for me to pick it up and slice through the following corner.
Shifting my weight (and back) on a thin-style bike is easy enough though not too roomy. To ride, the driver can find it strikingly higher narrow, with the level of pressure on your wrist, the high footpegs your legs folded in half and a mirror that offers a great view of your elbows. But rather than have a Ducati dry toys, the 848 has a wet clutch more durable less weight 1.6kg.

Decision
Styling The 848 shares in 1098, with the same instrument digital display and there are white and red versions are offered. Service intervals are now in 7500 more than 6,000 miles, which indicates that the Ducati is like changing the common barriers they face when trying to attract new customers to the family by producing a current path 848 to the cost of maintenance and repairs that look great sound and easy to ride .
